Duration: 9 Days / 8 Nights
Destination: Kenya — Laikipia Plateau, Samburu, Masai Mara Private Conservancies
Level: Premium Luxury
Group Size: 2–6 travelers (private departure)
Start / End: Nairobi Wilson Airport — Nairobi Wilson Airport
This is Kenya safari at its absolute finest. Travelling entirely by private light aircraft between three of East Africa's most exclusive wildlife destinations, this 9-day premium luxury safari delivers extraordinary biodiversity, unparalleled privacy, and the kind of deep wilderness access that is simply impossible to achieve by road. You will never share a game drive with another vehicle. You will never queue for a sundowner. You will simply be present in some of the greatest wild spaces left on earth, guided by Kenya's finest naturalists.
Begin on the Laikipia Plateau, where vast private ranches shelter the highest concentration of endangered black rhino outside a national park, along with wild dogs, Grevy's zebra, and lion prides that roam territories of thousands of acres. Fly north to the semi-arid drama of Samburu, where elephant herds and the spectacular northern specials — reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, and beisa oryx — inhabit a strikingly different ecosystem to the south. Complete your journey in a private Masai Mara conservancy where night drives, bush walks, and off-road game viewing are permitted — transforming the classic Mara safari into something altogether more intimate.
Every lodge in this Kenya luxury safari has been personally vetted by our team for design, service, and ecological commitment. All are owner-managed operations with fewer than 20 beds, dedicated to conservation and community development. You will sleep in tents that feel like they belong in a design magazine and eat meals that belong in a Michelin-starred restaurant — and the silence between the stars will be absolute.
Transfer to Wilson Airport for a private charter flight to the Laikipia Plateau. Your guide meets you at the bush airstrip with cold towels and chilled drinks. Settle into your luxury tented camp before an afternoon game drive that introduces you to Laikipia's sweeping landscapes — acacia woodland, rocky escarpments, and open grasslands stretching toward Mount Kenya.
Flight time: approximately 45 minutes.
Overnight: Laikipia private camp
The day begins before dawn with a guided walk — the best way to experience Laikipia's extraordinary landscape. Your naturalist guide reads tracks and signs, identifying everything from dung beetles to elephant passages. Morning vehicle game drive targets the rhino trackers' latest GPS data on Laikipia's black rhino population. Afternoon focuses on the wild dog packs that move across the plateau — sightings are unpredictable but, when they happen, utterly mesmerizing.
Overnight: Laikipia private camp
Morning guided walk along the plateau's edge before your charter flight north to Samburu. Arrive as the afternoon heat shimmer rises from the Ewaso Nyiro River — a completely different Kenya from the grasslands of the south. An immediate game drive introduces the northern specials and the river's resident elephants and crocodiles.
Flight time: approximately 30 minutes.
Overnight: Samburu luxury camp
Samburu National Reserve and its surrounding community conservancies reward full-day exploration. Reticulated giraffe cross your path in geometrically perfect coats. Grevy's zebra stand apart from their common relatives in startling clarity. Leopards favor the riverine acacia along the Ewaso Nyiro, and lion prides hunt the rocky outcrops above camp. An afternoon swim at the camp pool before sundowners on the river deck.
Overnight: Samburu luxury camp
Morning game drive followed by a visit to a Samburu manyatta — the beaded and ochre-painted culture of this northern community is vivid and distinct from the Maasai of the south. Your guide facilitates a genuine exchange rather than a staged performance. Late afternoon drive returns to river viewpoints for elephant crossings and sunset views.
Overnight: Samburu luxury camp
Morning game drive before your charter flight south to the Masai Mara — but not to the main reserve. Your camp sits inside one of the private conservancies that buffer the Mara ecosystem, where visitor numbers are capped, night drives are permitted, and off-road driving gives you access to wildlife wherever it moves. Arrive for a champagne welcome and afternoon game drive.
Flight time: approximately 1 hour.
Overnight: Mara conservancy luxury camp
Day and night in the Mara ecosystem without any limitation. Morning drive with your personal guide, midday at the camp's plunge pool, late afternoon walking safari on the open plains, and post-dinner night game drive revealing a completely different cast of characters: leopards on their nocturnal hunts, civets, genets, and lions feeding on a kill by starlight. This is the Mara that most visitors never experience.
Overnight: Mara conservancy luxury camp
A second unrestricted day to follow whatever the conservancy has to offer — and in a landscape this productive, that is a great deal. Migration herds push through the conservancy from July to November; lion and cheetah follow. Your guide knows the individual cats by name, tracks, and territory and will take you to exactly where the action is.
Overnight: Mara conservancy luxury camp
One final early-morning game drive as the sun rises over the Mara in its full golden glory. Return for a champagne bush breakfast before boarding your private charter back to Nairobi's Wilson Airport. Arrive with time for lunch, a flight connection, or an overnight in Nairobi before your international departure.
Flight time: approximately 45 minutes.
Tour activities will be arranged by out tour guides as per destination traveled.
Best Time to Visit: July–October for Mara migration; January–February for excellent predator activity and clear skies across all three areas; June and November also exceptional
Fitness Level: Easy to moderate — game drives are seated; walking safaris are gentle to moderate over flat terrain
Vehicle Type: Private 4WD game vehicle per camp; private charter flights between destinations (Cessna 208 or equivalent); max 6 guests
Health / Visa Notes: Yellow fever certificate if arriving from endemic countries. Malaria prophylaxis required. Kenya e-visa required for most nationalities. Yellow fever and full routine vaccinations recommended.
Starting Price: From USD 12,500 per person (fully inclusive, private departure, includes all flights and drinks)
